So Gloria Vanderbilt wrote an erotic novel
Don't you love it how when someone rich and famous writes stroke fic, it's not porn, it's erotic.

"On June 23, 2009, the 85-year-old Vanderbilt's novel entitled "Obsession: An Erotic Tale," was published by Ecco. The book has garnered media attention for its racy content, including, "scenes involving dildos, whips, silken cords and golden nipple clamps... spanking... Mint, cayenne pepper and a fresh garden carrot.. deployed in ways never envisioned by "The Joy of Cooking." And there is also a unicorn, though, blessedly, it remains a bystander."

I am standing directly beneath the enemy's scrotum
Took the boys to see Transformers this afternoon (after prepping myself with 800mg Advil), and wasn't that fun? Things started blowing up sixty seconds in, and they never stopped. It was one long epic explosion. Afterwards in the ladies room, I overheard this conversation between two teenage girls.

Girl 1: OMG! Wasn't that the best movie ever? I mean EVER!. It was just so...cool.
Girl 2: Yeah. SO Cool.
Girl 1: And that guy, what was his name, the main guy?
Girle 2: Oh! Um...
Girl 1: The guy.
Girl 2: Um.

Sam, girls. His name was Sam. And I wasn't even paying attention.

These are the kinds of things that need to be in movie reviews. "Longest continuous explosion in cinematic history. Makes teenage girls' brains leak out their ears." Now that's useful info.



Passing on some meta on Torchwood CoE because it's very close to what I wanted to say, but didn't. I realize there are a few people on my flist who adored S3 (Caspe, I'm looking at you), and I respect that. But this post sums up my reaction very neatly. Thanks, [info]thady, for linking me. :D
